Job Description
The Occupational Therapist assesses and treats the impacts of illness, injury, developmental, or psychological impairments affecting the performance areas of Activities of Daily Living, which include range-of-motion, grooming & hygiene, eating, dressing, toileting, driving, cooking, or working. They assist patients in regaining, developing, and learning skills to achieve optimal independence, reduce joint strain, prevent further damage, and conserve energy. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and monitoring patients' plans of care, administering occupational therapy modalities, and collaborating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team throughout the treatment process.
Responsibilities
- Assessing and treating patients with impairments in daily living activities.
- Developing and implementing personalized care plans for optimal patient independence.
- Administering various occupational therapy modalities.
- Working collaboratively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Monitoring patient progress and making necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Doctorate, Master's, or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Current New Mexico Occupational Therapy licensure.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- One year of experience in Occupational Therapy preferred.
