Occupational Therapist – Portland, ME
Orthopaedic Associates of Maine (OAM)

Orthopaedic Associates of Maine (OAM) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team in the Greater Portland area.
As a key member of our dynamic rehabilitation team, you'll work closely with orthopedic physicians and specialists to evaluate and treat patients with upper extremity and hand conditions in an outpatient setting. You’ll guide patients through customized treatment plans designed to restore function, adapt to new challenges, and return to work, sport, or daily life with confidence.
What You’ll Do:
Work one-on-one with patients to improve physical function and independence
Evaluate, plan, and implement individualized treatment plans
Provide therapy including manual techniques, therapeutic exercises, and functional training
Design and fabricate custom splints and braces
Collaborate with physicians and team members to ensure exceptional care
Educate patients on injury prevention, self-care, and wellness strategies
Maintain accurate documentation in our electronic medical record system
What You’ll Bring:
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
Maine licensure (or eligibility) as an Occupational Therapist
Hand/Upper Extremity therapy experience required; CHT certification is a plus
BLS certification preferred
Strong knowledge of upper extremity anatomy, rehabilitation principles, and therapeutic modalities
Excellent communication, critical thinking, and time management skills

Schedule & Location:
Full-time, Monday–Friday
Based in the Greater Portland area with opportunities to collaborate across OAM's clinic locations as needed

Requirements
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
Maine licensure (or eligibility) as an Occupational Therapist
