Description
National Dizzy & Balance Center (NDBC) is a unique outpatient clinic system. We currently utilize Physicians, Audiologists, Physical Therapists, and Occupational Therapists within each of our four Twin Cities clinic locations to offer a true multidisciplinary approach to treatment of various disorders. We are in business to improve our patients' quality of life, not just provide a medical service. This commitment to excellence, and the development of patient relationships, is what will make NDBC the standard for comparison in this field.
Are you ready to specialize in concussion and life skills management? We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team as we continue to grow in the Twin Cities and expand our services for our patients. We are seeking an OT who values their work environment, team work, and opportunity to grow in their career! NDBC prides itself in dedication to the latest research, attending the best continuing education, presenting case studies and educational sessions at national level, and truly being the standard all others are compared to. In addition we value a fun and flexible work environment! Work life balance is highly valued!
Our Occupational Therapist will work with our medical team at expanding the resources available to our patients and primarily those with concussions and vestibular disorders. After a comprehensive workup with state of the art diagnostic testing and evidence based evaluations, the OT will implement treatment to return patients to their prior level of function in regards to cognitive and visual deficits. Occupational Therapists at NDBC provide vision therapy interventions to address visual processing, oculomotor dysfunction, and other vision-related impairments commonly associated with concussion and vestibular disorders. In addition, OTs may incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)-based strategies and interventions focused on stress management, anxiety reduction, coping skills, environmental modifications, work simplification/energy conservation strategies for symptom management and overall mental health support to help patients successfully return to daily activities, work, school, and community participation.
Experience with concussion, vestibular disorders, cognitive therapy, vision therapy, and addressing the psychosocial impacts of concussion and/or dizziness and balance disorders is preferred. The OT will be involved in growing the OT program at NDBC as well. NDBC also provides our employees the training and mentorship that they need to become expert clinicians. The NDBC Rehab team continues to advance their knowledge with monthly journal club, attendance at national conferences, and additional monies for the CE courses needed to grow the OT program.
The position will be primarily in our Woodbury clinic, but some travel to other clinics may be needed.
