Company Overview
Play OnWords Therapeutic Services, LLC is a privately owned pediatric therapy practice located in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Founded by Adrienne Dooley, MS, CCC-SLP, the practice is dedicated to supporting children’s growth, communication, and independence through individualized, play-based therapy. We provide speech-language pathology (SLP) and occupational therapy (OT) services for children ages birth through 18, addressing a wide range of developmental, communication, and functional needs.

Company History
Play OnWords Therapeutic Services, LLC was founded in early 2020 by Adrienne Dooley, MS, CCC-SLP, a pediatric speech-language pathologist who relocated to St. Thomas with the vision of expanding access to quality therapy services in the Virgin Islands. Recognizing the limited availability of pediatric therapy on the island, Adrienne established Play OnWords to provide evidence-based, family-centered care tailored to the needs of children in the local community.
Beginning as a single-provider practice offering speech-language services, Play OnWords quickly grew in response to community demand. Within the first years, the practice expanded to include occupational therapy and developed strong partnerships with schools, physicians, and families across the island. In 2023, the practice added a sister company, Play to Thrive Intervention Services, to provide applied behavior analysis (ABA) and behavioral support, creating a unique interdisciplinary model under one roof.
Today, Play OnWords remains committed to its founding values of play-based learning, cultural sensitivity, and collaborative care. The practice continues to grow its team of dedicated clinicians and strives to meet the developmental needs of children of all abilities, while serving as a trusted resource for families throughout St. Thomas and the wider Virgin Islands.
