Company Profile

CareWarden Home Health Care

Company Overview

CareWarden Home Health Care is a Medicare-certified and CHAP-accredited agency based in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, serving patients across Middlesex, Essex, Suffolk, and Norfolk Counties.
We provide skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, medical social work, and home health aide services to patients recovering from illness, surgery, or chronic conditions in the comfort of their homes.

Our team partners with licensed Physical and Occupational Therapists who value flexibility, autonomy, and clinical excellence. Through per-visit and per-diem opportunities, we empower therapists to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care that restores independence and improves quality of life.

CareWarden combines clinical compassion with modern technology and streamlined coordination, ensuring therapists spend more time focusing on patients and less on administrative burden. Our mission is to advance mobility, recovery, and wellbeing—one home at a time.

Company History

CareWarden Home Health Care was born from a vision to blend compassion, scientific rigor, and scalable systems design in healthcare. The agency was founded by Dr. Frederick Balagaddé, PhD, a TED Senior Fellow, bioengineer, and global health innovator whose journey spans continents, institutions, and impactful research.

Dr. Balagaddé’s early work at Caltech led to the invention of a “micro-chemostat” — a microfluidic chip designed to replicate biological culture environments on a small scale — innovations grounded in applied physics and engineering.

Later, he contributed to advanced microfluidics research while collaborating in South Africa, helping build a first-of-its-kind bioengineering and clean room facility for diagnostic and disease-detection technologies, particularly in resource-constrained settings.

At Stanford University, Dr. Balagaddé expanded his perspective in global health, working at the intersection of systems, diagnostics, and translational science (he has also used microfluidic tools in partnership with biomedical platforms).

His unique path — from global health research to healthcare systems design — fuels CareWarden’s mission to bring high-quality, patient-centered rehabilitation into the home setting.

Since its founding in Chelmsford, MA, CareWarden has grown steadily to serve patients across Middlesex, Essex, Suffolk, and Norfolk Counties, earning Medicare certification and CHAP accreditation for quality, safety, and operational integrity. Under Dr. Balagaddé’s leadership, the agency is expanding its network of skilled Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapists who practice on per-visit or per-diem basis, offering flexibility, clinical autonomy, and meaningful impact.

From the very beginning, the story of CareWarden has been about transforming care delivery — combining scientific innovation with human-centered service. As we expand statewide, we carry forward Dr. Balagaddé’s conviction that recovery is most powerful when delivered at home, with dignity and precision.
