Here at Arizona Center for Hand to Shoulder Surgery, we are looking to grow our in-house therapy team, seeking a dynamic, driven, and passionate Certified Hand Therapist or Occupational Therapist working towards obtaining their CHT to join our growing team.
At Arizona Center for Hand to Shoulder Surgery, we pride ourselves in utilizing a multidisciplinary approach to patient treatment. We value collaboration and teamwork to provide the best possible care for our patients.
As a member of our therapy team, you will be provided with quarterly opportunities for surgical shadowing and clinical shadowing with our surgeons.
Additionally, we provide a robust allowance for continuing education to ensure therapists are enabled to stay up to date with best practices.
We encourage a team approach when it comes to treatment planning and patient care and welcome and value therapist input and streamlined communication.
Working directly alongside with physicians allows therapists to utilize knowledge of post operative protocols, however our practice also services trauma throughout the valley, which allows therapists to utilize critical thinking skills to collaborate with our team to develop the best possible treatment approach.
In addition, custom orthosis fabrication is an integral part of our practice. As part of our team, expect to allow your orthosis fabrication skills to shine. Therapists are encouraged to use knowledge and expertise regarding materials and equipment to provide our patients with the highest quality custom orthoses.

Responsibilities
· Perform evaluation/re-evaluation, develop a plan of care, adhere to surgery/diagnosis specific protocols, utilize clinical reasoning to appropriately address patient needs to promote optimal outcomes and overall patient function/satisfaction.
· Demonstrate knowledge of anatomical structures/function of the upper limb to address client factors to effectively treat and rehabilitate upper limb injuries.
· Collaborate with physicians, clients, and families to provide individualized treatment programs
· Documents and bill consistently with professional guidelines
· Maintain inventory of clinic supplies and equipment
Skills
· Experience and knowledge of hand therapy principals and practices in an outpatient orthopedic setting
· Orthosis fabrication skills and expertise in an outpatient setting
· Ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, families and physicians regarding therapy services in verbal and written form
Qualifications
· Minimum of a Masters degree from an accredited college or university
· Current state of Arizona OT license
· Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Outpatient Orthopedic hand and upper extremity experience preferred, but not required
This position is a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience with a variety of upper extremity conditions as well as utilize or gain competence in custom orthosis fabrication. The position would require one on one communication with surgeons to provide the highest quality of care.
