Augustana University invites applications for the position of full-time Director of Capstone and Research-OTD-MN.
This position is remote with occasional travel into Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Minneapolis, MN.

Qualifications:
Earned terminal academic doctorate in a discipline appropriate for teaching responsibilities,
OR
Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree (OTD) with specialization in a discipline appropriate for teaching responsibilities.
Understanding of higher education and contemporary clinical practice appropriate for leadership in occupational therapy clinical education.
Knowledge of legislative, regulatory, legal, and practice issues affecting didactic and clinical education, students, and the profession of occupational therapy.
Occupational therapist with an active, unrestricted license and eligible in Minnesota and South Dakota.
Current registration with NBCOT.
Active in professional activities at local, state, and/or national levels.
Experience consistent with Augustana University’s System for Faculty Rank.
The Director of Capstone and Research holds a faculty appointment and has administrative, academic, service, and scholarship responsibilities consistent with the mission and philosophy of the academic program. The Director of Capstone and Research will enhance the scholarly productivity of the OTD students and oversees the research coursework within the OTD program including Capstone Projects. The Director of Capstone and Research may be assigned other teaching and mentoring activities within the OTD program. The Director of Capstone and Research will serve as the Capstone Coordinator for the program and will collaborate and mentor student’s scholarly agendas. This faculty member should have an existing independent scholarly agenda and participate in community and professional service appropriate to a college faculty member. The Director of Capstone and Research should also have familiarity of Institutional Review Board policies and procedures. Specifically, the Director of Capstone and Research will provide strategic leadership for a program that develops sound scientific inquiry skills for all OTD students, as well as provide guidance and direction related specifically to research-based curriculum requirements of the Doctor of Occupational Therapy program.
Administrative Responsibilities
Responsible for the management and oversight of student scholarly activities within the program.
Ensures that Capstone Projects support the mission, goals, and outcomes of the college and program.
Provides or ensures mentorship of students to support their development as scholars and researchers.
Coordinates placement of students and securing appropriate supervision as outlined by ACOTE standards for Capstone Projects.
Oversees student research activities, to include research proposals and IRB reviews, and dissemination.
Ensures there is appropriate guidance for student research activities to include planning, developing, conducting, and receiving Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval for OTD program projects and Capstone projects.
Serves as liaison to the University’s offices and committees related to Research, Grants, Compliance, and other Sponsored Programs.
Provides primary oversight to the following components of the Program Assessment Plan and ACOTE Self Study Report: Capstone Projects.
