Huntington University has an opening for an Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy for the Doctoral Program at the Peoria, Arizona location.
Faculty members of the occupational therapy program provide structured learning and laboratory experiences for students in compliance with ACOTE 2023 Standards. Faculty aligns teaching with university and department mission statements, strategic plan, curricular philosophy, design, and level of expertise. Faculty administer evaluations of the students, supports learning with application in areas of fieldwork, research, and experiential component. Faculty provide ongoing program evaluation and professional development for continued success of the academic program.

Strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and an understanding of the relationship of faith and professional practice
A commitment to stewardship and a desire to serve others
Must be committed to the mission of Huntington University as a comprehensive Christian College dedicated to educating men and women to impact our world for Christ
Demonstrated understanding of Christian higher education, preferred
The individual must be an occupational therapist and hold a doctoral degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDOE-recognized regional accrediting body.
Maintains current Occupational Therapy license in Arizona
Commitment to an occupational therapy practice curriculum based on the mission of the University that exemplifies Christian ethics, compassion and service
Demonstrated successful teaching and curriculum development experience in graduate level institutions, with program development experience strongly preferred.
Evidence of clinical practice and research activities in professional health care organizations and ability to work successfully with a broad range of organizations
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, the University community and clinical agencies
Demonstrated professional writing skills
Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
Experience in conducting research and teaching research methodologies at the graduate or professional level (preferred)
Previous experience teaching Occupational Therapy (OT) in a faculty and/or adjunct role (preferred)
