The position is a contract position for an Occupational Therapist that is running their own practice. However, we are open to a regular part-time staff position. The hourly rate for a staff position is $45-$55 per hour with a rich benefits plan that includes employer fully paid Medical, Life and LTD plans, as well as voluntary dental, vision, and other insurance plans.

The Bayview Hunters Point Adult Day Health Center is a licensed program that is designed to help seniors and people living with disabilities age in place in the community, and avoid premature placement in a skilled nursing facility. The Adult Day Health Center is licensed by the State Department of Public Health and certified as a MediCal provider with the California Department of Aging. The center provides social services, nutrition and nutritional services, therapies, including physical, occupational, speech and psychological services, as well as a variety of person-centered activities to address individual and group needs for socialization, memory, and physical movement in an inclusive atmosphere. The Occupational Therapist is part of a multidisciplinary team who provides assessment and treatment in response to the needs of participants at adult day health.
The Occupational Therapist assesses the functional capabilities of the program participants; provides and supervises individual treatment plans; acts a consultant to the Program Director; and is a member of the multidisciplinary team.
This position is open to an independent contractor or part-time regular employee. We are seeking someone who is available between 20-25 hours per week, and be flexible with scheduled days.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide Occupational therapy assessments, treatment plan, and therapy interventions and routines for frail elders and adults with disabilities in a day health program
Oversee work of Rehabilitation Aide in the assistance of administering treatment routines
Document treatment plan and interventions in client database

EDUCATION/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of an occupational therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Council of Medical Education of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association (ACT) and registered by ACT
Experience working with an elder population and with a multidisciplinary team preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Occupational Therapist must be able to move around the facility as well as sit at a work station. Lifting up to 10 pounds occurs about half the time, while up to and above 25 pounds occurs occasionally
