POSITION PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for carrying out laboratory instructional activities, coaching/mentoring students, and implementing formative and summative evaluation measures during their intensive learning weeks. This is a remote/limited residency position, not requiring relocation to Provo, Utah, but the position requires attendance at intensive learning weeks three times each semester in Provo, UT. Priority will be given to candidates who live in the intermountain west or along the Wasatch front.
Gives interactive laboratory experiences, models psychomotor and/or high-demand interpersonal skills, and uses traditional and emerging practice-related equipment, supplies, and materials to teach and reinforce instructional content.
Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students provide clarity and improve student learning.
Sets clear expectations for laboratory activities during the intensive learning weeks and onsite assignment/examination dates.
Ensures that the laboratory content and level of material, including formative and summative evaluation, correspond to the course terminal objectives.
Regularly assesses instructional effectiveness (during lab experiences) and student learning.
Demonstrates consistency and fairness in preparing and grading formative and summative assessments and provides timely feedback to students.
Has analytical and problem-solving skills, great attention to detail, and uses best practices in teaching.
Provide excellent instruction involving active learning to all students pursuing.
Makes necessary accommodations for students with special needs.
Reviews course materials and course design
Other duties as assigned
Provide effective academic advising and mentoring to students.
Refers students for instructional or university assistance as necessary.
Degree in Occupational Therapy (Masters/Doctorate preferred), Maintains NBCOT Certification
Current knowledge and skill in evidence-based practice and teaching skills.
Knowledge of educational, management, and adult learning theory and principles with hybrid (online & face to face) instructional delivery.
Knowledge and clinical experience working in adult children/youth, mental health/psychosocial, and/or geriatrics and teaching such content.
Active in clinical practice (required)
Active at local, state, and/or national levels (preferred).
Able to work with students with special needs based on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Ability to meet faculty requirements as stated in the current Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education Standards.
Strong leadership, communication, organization, interpersonal, problem-solving, and counseling skills (preferred).
Priority will be given to applicants who live in the Intermountain west or who are willing to relocate to Provo, Utah or the surrounding areas (Ogden, Salt Lake City, etc.)
