Notre Dame of Maryland University (NDMU) invites applications for the position of Director for the Occupational Therapy program, now in its second year and a candidate for ACOTE accreditation. This is a full-time appointment. The Occupational Therapy Program Director reports directly to the provost and works closely with academic administrators and faculty. Salary is commensurate with experience; compensation also includes a benefits package.

Notre Dame of Maryland is a private, independent institution anchored in the lovely Homeland neighborhood of Baltimore City with outreach programs in the state serving central and southern Maryland and the Eastern Shore. Founded as a Catholic women's college by the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1895, NDMU, now a comprehensive university, offers baccalaureate degrees in the Women's College and co-ed undergraduate programs for adults, and graduate programs through the School of Arts, Sciences, and Business, School of Education, School of Nursing, and School of Pharmacy.

The program in Occupational Therapy is rooted in this mission in its concern for the needs of the community and its focus on educating strong leaders who can meet those needs. The Occupational Therapy program also benefits from the strong complementary curriculum expertise in health care through the School of Nursing and the School of Pharmacy. Equally important is the expertise of the School of Education in supporting the preparation of OT educators.

The program director will

• guide the program through the ACOTE accreditation process currently underway - site visit scheduled for fall 2024
• continue to assess programmatic success and set appropriate goals once accreditation is earned
• work with Enrollment Management on plans to recruit and matriculate strong applicants to the program
• manage the program budget
• support current student cohorts, offering advisement and guidance
• mentor, support, and evaluate 2 full- and 5 part-time faculty
• maintain professional and community relationships to further the program's goals and remain actively involved in the field
• meet regularly with the provost to offer updates on programmatic developments, accreditation progress, student and faculty issues, etc. as well as receive updates from Academic Affairs
  
  Required Qualifications
• an earned doctorate in OT
• experience as an Occupational Therapist
• experience in an academic institution with teaching responsibilities
• administrative and organizational experience including personnel and budget management, program evaluation, and experience with professional accreditations
• knowledge of and experience with ACOTE guidelines and accreditation standards
• excellent verbal and written communication skill
