The Department of Occupational Therapy at NYU is one of the oldest OT programs in the United States. In September 2023 the program plans to admit its last entry-level masters of science students as it will be transitioning to entry-level clinical doctorate of OT beginning September 2024. In addition to the entry-level OT program, the Department offers a post-professional masters of arts, a post-professional occupational therapy clinical doctorate (online and residential), and a doctorate of philosophy in research.
The mission of the Department of OT is to prepare competent, compassionate, ethical occupational therapists to assume roles as clinicians, leaders, scholars, and researchers. We are committed to substantially increasing the proportion of our faculty from historically underrepresented groups as we strive to create the most intellectually diverse, inclusive, and equitable institution that we can, and especially encourage candidates from historically underrepresented groups to apply.
