- Pediatric Occupational Therapist
Description
We are seeking a compassionate, energetic pediatric Occupational Therapist to provide patients with treatment in our clinic and/or schools, to help them develop and improve their ability to complete everyday tasks related to their daily life.
Requirements
Direct Services may consist of individual or group sessions provided in the classroom or therapy area based on each child’s needs as identified on their Individual Education Plan (IEP). Areas addressed during direct therapy sessions may include Fine Motor Skills, Gross Motor Skills, Visual Motor Integration, Sensory Processing, Visual Perceptual
Indirect Services encompass a variety of activities that often do not involve face-to-face time with the student but are intended to support a student’s progress and ability to access the general education curriculum. Examples of these activities may include: consultation with school staff or parents to support generalization of skills to home and school environments, guidance in adapting the curriculum or environment, recommendations for accommodations or modifications as needed to support student success, brainstorming with IEP team members to address needs that may arise throughout the school year as a result of the educational disability and staff in-services to educate staff regarding the impact of skill deficits on functional performance
IEP and ETR Compliance Activities include other actions that are mandatory to remain in compliance with Special Education standards. These activities include:
- Review of existing IEPs and ETRs for compliance and appropriateness of all areas of the IEP or ETR related to occupational therapy needs and services including appropriateness of the assessments completed to determine student needs, baseline data, goals, objectives, accommodations, and service levels
- Re-writing or amending sections of the IEP occupational therapy needs and services as necessary
- Writing IEPs for initial occupational therapy services and annual reviews as needed within required timelines
- Progress monitoring as needed to identify needs for IEPs and progress reports
- Writing progress reports for distribution according to Ohio Operating Standards guidelines
- Providing guidance to school staff as needed to insure that required documents are completed and distributed to parents (IEP invitations, copies of the IEP, Prior Written Notice…)
- Attendance at IEP and ETR meetings
- Direct testing for initial evaluations and reevaluations
- Scoring assessments and analyzing data for evaluations and progress monitoring
- Writing evaluation reports
