This team member is an experienced and skilled clinician who is recognized for knowledge and skills by their peers and often consulted for their expertise. This team member contributes independently to an interdisciplinary approach to patient care service delivery across the continuum of care. A therapist at this level demonstrates effective leadership and functions consistently and autonomously in this role. This level of therapist effectively negotiates the health care system to maximize the delivery of quality care and to minimize cost. This team member completes administrative and clinical projects and supervises and mentors staff and students as assigned by the supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs occupational therapy evaluations according to professional standards and departmental guidelines.
Demonstrates knowledge of intervention options and executes a program of skilled occupational therapy intervention.
Actively participates in professional growth of self and others.
Actively participates in quality improvement and program development.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy. Advanced degree preferred.
Experience: 3 years relevant experience. 5 or more years working with pediatric patients in NICU/PICU environments preferred.
License/Certification: Licensed to practice in Occupational Therapy in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
