As the Occupational Therapist you will assess, plan, administer, evaluate and provide safe occupational therapy. You will be responsible for providing quality inpatient and outpatient occupational therapy services to adult, geriatric, and select adolescent and pediatric patients. In this position you will also:
Be responsible for providing evaluation and treatment of patients in accordance with the orders of the attending physician, and in accordance with policies, procedures and protocols.
Progression of treatment goals and education of patient/family/caregiver in applicable health information, treatment, and prevention.
Assess and treat a patient caseload ranging from routine to complex patient problems and situations and utilize training in the evaluation and treatment process.
Collaborate with other disciplines as appropriate to coordinate continuity of patient care from admission to discharge.
Implement treatment programs, which include areas of daily living skills, sensorimotor skills, cognition and therapeutic adaptations. This may include use of physical agents, manual therapy, and therapeutic exercise. Instruct, assign work and evaluate students as assigned by supervisor.
Participates in departmental initiatives for operational improvement including committees and educational offerings.
Experience: Two years recent clinical experience in varied areas of patient care especially acute care of children and adults preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy; Masters preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledgeable about industry standards related to patient care and safety. Critical thinking skills and the ability to work under minimal supervision. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) language skills preferred.
Licenses/Registrations/Certifications: Current WA State Occupational Therapist license. Current BLS.
Sunnyside Community Hospital & Clinics is located in Sunnyside, Washington. We are situated in the heart of Southeastern Washington. Our hospital has a 24-hour emergency room, seven-bed intensive care unit, medical-surgical floor, Family Birth Center, operating rooms, laboratory and diagnostic imaging (3-D mammography, x-ray, CT scan, new state-of-the-art MRI, ultrasound, nuclear medicine and bone... density scan). Other services include cardiology, respiratory therapy, pharmacy and diabetes education.
